Rotary Servo Motors
In terms of compact size, high resolution and precise performance, the automation industry has never seen a line of rotary servo motors like today’s Sigma-7. The full range of products from 3w to 55kw perform in higher temperature extremes, at higher altitudes and in more washdown environments than ever before. Every Sigma-7 model is backward compatible with existing Sigma-5 and Sigma II products.
100W – 1.5kW, Medium Inertia
A shorter profile makes the SGM7P series one of Yaskawa’s most compact servo motor offerings. It is well suited for applications where space is limited. The coils and rotor elements are designed to reduce motor length by 25%, while providing the torque and speed commonly available only from a larger motor. The SGM7P series performs in the medium inertia range, and is effective in applications requiring optimized load matching. The motors have a rated speed of 3000 rpm with rated torque up to 4.77 N∙m. 24-bit encoder resolution maintains industry-leading positional accuracy at any point in the power spectrum.

- Advanced magnetic circuitry and optimum winding geometry deliver very low cogging torque
- Safety rated at SIL 3 (IEC 61508)
- Peak acceleration torque up to 300% of rated torque
- Peak torque can be maintained for up to three seconds
- Rated speed of 3,000 rpm, max speed of 6,000 rpm
- IP67 rated for resistance to dust, water washdown
- Functions in temperatures above 60oC, altitudes above 2000 ft.
- Runs 20% cooler than previous generation products
- Holding Brake and Shaft Seal options available
